Roscommon Arts Centre 15th-16th July. 3.30-5pm. In-person workshops. 2-part series.
Day 1 – Drawing. Learn the basics of drawing a portrait including porportions and line making to make an accurate representation of your subject.
Day 2 – Bringing your drawing to life with colour. Here we will use oil pastels to bring a sketch (outline) to life with vibrancy and a painterly quality – that expresses the spirt of the person we are ‘painting’, through gestural marks, and choice of colours, and what areas to focus on etc. To create an impressive image.
You will learn fundamentals of drawing and gain an introduction to using colour, as well as some colouring techniques to help make your drawings more vibrant and eye-catching.
This course is suitable for beginners, or those wishing to advance their skills.
This course is provided free of charge in association with Roscommon Arts Centre.
*All materials will be provided, but if you can bring a phone with a camera, it may be helpful.
While walk-ins may be accepted on the days; registration is essential to ensure that you will have a place.
